The purpose of this website is to educate and encourage people just like you that would like to make a difference, one person at a time in our world. We are encouraging donations for our

difficult mission to help protect the innocent victims of genocide in Darfur and other war-torn areas around the world. My name is Dave McDowell and I am the Director of International Police Training and Outreach for Safe Harbor International. Since 1990 I have been working to take small teams of U.S. police officers, chaplains, nurses, and doctors to parts of the world where people have been marginalized due to war or hard economic times. The unique work of providing training to police officers and government officials in areas such as ethics, officer safety and child protection programs have opened many doors to assist us in our humanitarian outreach. We "train trainers" which allows the work of improving care to the people of Sudan to duplicate itself even while we are back in the United States preparing new teams to return.

Why is Sudan important to the world? I believe we should address the needs of any people in the world that we would call the least, the last, and the lost. However, some will question why we would help people so far away in a country that appears to have no bearing on how we live in the United States.
